Who comes up with this stuff? Things like "military intelligence" and "civil war" have been the butt of jokes long enough that you'd think folks would steer away from things like a "team of mavericks." Anyone who has ever played any team sport knows that a "team of mavericks" isn't exactly desirable. Next we are probably going to hear that this "team of mavericks" has formed an alliance with the Union of Anarchists for a decisive victory.

Maybe this is what McCain means when he calls himself a Maverick; McCain wrote in HIS book, Worth Fighting For, that he runs for President not to institute reform or even out of a grand notion of patriotism, but for his own personal ambition.
Many sites confirm this. So, I guess it isn't all about America and the American people. He seems more like Gelding to me. He'll to anything to make a run of it!

and talk about desperation;
the McCain campaign is surprisingly transparent in its desperation. Faced with daunting challenges here and abroad, McCain, Palin, and their team of Bushies have decided they'd lose if voters have issues and substance on their minds. They're left with lies, personal attacks, and bogus smears. It's surprisingly pathetic. -- Money; What a concept !
